A Brief History of David and Sons Jewelry
David and Sons Jewelry has been a family-owned business since it first opened its doors in the early 1930s. Founded by David Prefman, the shop was originally housed in a small storefront on Baltimore Street. Back then, there were no computers or tools of mass production — every piece was handmade with love and care. Over the years, the business has grown and evolved, yet David’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship has remained at its core.
David’s son, Paul Prefman, took over operations after his father retired in 1974. Paul built on the foundation that his father created and pushed the company to do more than jewelry making — they started offering custom design services allowing customers to create unique pieces tailor fit for them.
