I had the opportunity to speak with Bea about her jewelry line and her inspirations.
What inspired you to start Bvla Jewelry?
I was born and raised in Barcelona, and after spending several years working in the fashion industry there, I moved to the United States and launched my own line of jewelry.
Barcelona is a really vibrant, eclectic city with a lot of history and culture, and I think that really comes through in my designs. I love to travel, and I think that’s another big influence on my work. I’m always inspired by the different places I visit and the different cultures I experience.
What is your design process like?
I usually start with a material or a color that I’m drawn to, and then I start playing around with different designs until I come up with something that I like. I’m a very hands-on designer, so I like to experiment with different techniques and materials until I find something that feels right.
What are your favorite materials to work with?
I love to work with beads, especially colorful glass beads. I also like to use metals, especially gold and silver, and I love to play around with different textures and finishes.
What are your favorite designs from your collection?
I have so many favorite designs, it’s hard to choose! But I think my favorite pieces are the ones that are really unique and different, pieces that you don’t see everywhere. I also love my beaded bracelets, they’re really popular and people seem to really like them.
Who are some of your favorite designers?
I have a lot of favorite designers, but some of my favorites are Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, and Diane von Furstenberg.
What’s in store for Bvla Jewelry in the future?
I’m really excited about the future of Bvla Jewelry. I’m planning on expanding the line to include more accessories, like bags and scarves, and I’m also working on a new collection that will be released later this year.
